Apply

Applications for courses need to be made through the individual centres in the partnership.

Key Stage 4

All students receive advice and guidance when they are in Year 9 about the courses available at their school in years 10 and 11. The subjects available to students vary from school to school as they each match the needs of their students and the resources that they have available.

You need to consult the staff at your school to find out what is available. Each school organises a number of events in the Spring Term of Year 9 to help students make the best choices for years 10 and 11 and this includes a Courses Evening that parents are able to attend.

Post 16

Applications for Post 16 students are organised by the individual centres. Each school organises a programme of events to help students make their choices during year 11 and North Hertfordshire College also runs Open Evenings during the year for prospective students to visit the college. Year 12 students are also given the opportunity to review their courses for Year 13 during Year 12 and after any results they receive at the end of Year 12.

Students wishing to remain at their current school will be able to apply through the school as part of the programme of support and guidance in Year 11.

Students interested in applying to another centre need to do so by contacting the contact staff at each centre who will deal with your application.

Important Note

Whichever centre you join will be known as your Home Centre and if you are interested in taking a course as a Guest Student at another centre alongside your other studies then this will be organised for you by your Home Centre. You do not need to apply directly to the Guest Centre as your Home Centre will make all of the arrangements for you. Directly applications to other centres should only be made if you want to have them as your Home Centre.

Whoever is your Home Centre will ensure that you have support and guidance during your course, will organise reports and parents evenings and ensure that you get the best out of your studies.
